Be prepared to breastfeed by taking Breastfeeding 101, sponsored by the Memorial Medical Center. Taught by a Certified Lactation Consultant, this class will teach how to position an infant for optimal latching, how often to feed a baby, how to know if the baby is receiving enough breastmilk, and how to avoid breastfeeding difficulties.
Pre-registration is required, and registering in the seventh month of pregnancy will ensure participation in the class prior to the due date.

This class was a great starter class for learning to BF. The lactation consultants at Memorial Hospital are, by far, the best in the area. They go above and beyond to help and have a passion for what they do. They weekly "Mommy and Me" class hosted by Ruth is another great outlet. Ruth and her team are amazing. They allow Moms that delivered at other hospitals to come in for assistance, just call. Highly recommend!
