Brenda Athletic Club is hosting the 2nd Annual Family Fun Run to benefit the local charity Sierra Vista Child and Family Services. Sierra Vista Child & Family Services has been helping abused, neglected and emotionally disturbed children and families in crisis in California's Central Valley since 1972. They offer a variety of community based counseling and family support services in various locations including Modesto, Hughson, Turlock, and Merced. Sierra Vista's focus is helping both children and adults struggling with mental health issues in Stanislaus and Merced Counties. Sierra Vista Child & Family Services offers a wide range of mental health services to help children with ADHD (Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder), emotional problems, and behavioral difficulties. Adult treatment services are provided in the areas of effective parenting, domestic violence, anger management, and child abuse counseling.
Registration begins at 9:30am. The run is just one mile, routed through nearby streets. (Start at the gym on Norwegian, then east to Sunrise, north to Tokay, south to Toyon, then east to return to the start of the race.)
Health and Wellness Fair follows at the gym.
