Wow, what a terrific time Fairytale Town is, but throw in a live music performance on a temperate summer afternoon and you've got a picture-perfect family outing!
The Children's Concert Series at Fairytale Town is of course designed to keep kids dancing, singing and bouncing around the Mother Goose stage lawn. What you don't know until you find yourself be-boppin' to the beat is that the Children's Concert Series will also entertain the adults!
The Hipwaders were really great, inviting the children to dance right up on stage with them; pumping bubbles in the air throughout the performance; playing old favorites, television theme songs and soon-to-be hits from a new album.
We arrived at Land Park right about noon and still found parking within a comfortable walking distance from the park. After wandering through the park, we ate lunch at the Dish & Spoon Café and then found a shady spot on the lawn to wait for The Hipwaders to take the stage. My seven year old was fully engaged the entire performance, dancing on stage and singing along to the songs she knew. My five year old became a bit bored after 40 minutes of music, so I let him rotate between Owl's House (tree house with a slide) and the Red Barn (large barn with another fun slide) — it was perfect, as I could watch both children at once from the edge of the stage.
Bring a blanket or chairs for comfort during the show. Your items will also serve double-duty, reserving a shady spot for you should you arrive early and want to explore Fairytale Town prior to the show.
