For more than 20 years, Foothills Horizon Summer camp has operated out of the picturesque Wade Outdoor Education Center in Sonora. The campus is a quintessential sleepaway camp, on over 140 acres of forests, streams and trails. Besides the modern dorms, full-service dining hall and kitchen, Foothill Horizon also maintains an astronomy tower, pool, and museum.
Second through seventh graders are invited to camp in one-week sessions, which are themed and based on movies, television shows, or other pop-culture topics. The campers bunk with other children their own age but have activities throughout the day that allow interaction between age groups.
Camp tuition for one five-day session in 2013 is $475. Tuition includes: Lodging, meals, activity instruction, themed adventures, arts and crafts, and a camp t-shirt. Transportation to and from the SCOE Media Center in Modesto, CA is available for an additional $40. Transportation is also available from the East Bay Area for a fee of $65. For information about Bay Area transportation, call (209) 532-6673.

This is a wonderful summer camp for 2nd through 7th graders. My son loved it so much last year. He can't wait to go again this summer and has talked us into going for 2 weeks this year. Registration is open for Summer 2011.
