Pinecrest Campground and Pinecrest Lake are located 30 miles east of Sonora, California, off of Highway 108.
There are 196 campsites available during peak season, which is from April to October. Sites range from 30-40' back-ins, no hook-ups, on five different loops. Loop D is located closest to the lake. Most sites include a paved parking pad, fire ring, picnic table, and a shaded area. The campground has water faucets close to most sites with potable water.

Tent camping at Pinecrest is an annual summer tradition for our family of five. There's nothing too rough about "roughing it" in Pinecrest when there's a general store, espresso bar, restaurant and outdoor movie theater within walking distance of the campsites, but the creature comforts are what really set this mountain lake resort apart from others.

We love camping at Pinecrest. It's a yearly summer trip for our family and we always catch a movie. Last year, we saw Toy Story 3 the day it came out in the theaters, but we got to watch it under the stars. Our family loves taking a hike around the lake and renting a partyboat to cruise around the lake. However, word of warning: lock up your ice chests at night.
