Be a part of something big! The third annual Spirit of Giving 5K Run, Walk, & Ride will be held on December 14, 2013, and all proceeds go to local food banks, City of Modesto Parks, Leisure Services and the Recreation & Neighborhood Department Scholarship Fund.
Teen and adult participants race through downtown, Modesto Junior College, and the historic Graceada Park neighborhoods on this paved route, with the race beginning at 8:00am. Awards are given to overall male and female as well as the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place male and female runners in each age group (9:30am). A great raffle prize is to be had; bring a non-perishable food item to be entered into the raffle.
The free Kids Fun Run — also known as Kids Help Santa Chase the Grinch Out of Modesto — begins at 9:15am. Children 10 and under can participate in this non-competitive run, receiving candy canes, a medal, and a photo with the big guy at the finish!
Pick up your race bibs early to avoid that adrenaline-draining stress. December 7, from noon to 7pm, race participants can visit On the Run (McHenry Village) to get their race bib. If racers miss the early bird opportunity, bibs can be picked up the day of the race beginning at 6:30am at the same location.
