ABOUT

Founded in 1958, Roaring Camp Railroads was opened to restore two railway lines that wind through historic trees and coastal mountains.

The Redwood Forest Steam Train is a 75 minute train excursion through a virgin redwood forest. Roaring Camp's narrow-gauge steam engines date from 1890 — at one time used to haul redwood logs — and are some of the oldest running engines providing passenger service in the country. View the timetable here.

The Santa Cruz Beach Train runs from Roaring Camps, through Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park, down a river gorge, over a truss and through a tunnel before pulling into the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.  Please view the timetable to plan the three-hour roundtrip excursion and make the most of a visit.
