If your child is the least bit adventurous when it comes to food, be sure to stop in at Tasty Thai for dinner while in the Modesto area. The restaurant is independently owned, but the owners have been able to expand due to its popularity.
The Coffee Road location is somewhat dated, but serves nearly the same menu as its updated, sleek and stylish Floyd Avenue location. I prefer the Floyd restaurant, because as a diner, I have found the kitchen to be a little more accommodating with order specifics (i.e., I like chicken breast rather than thigh, and they are more than willing to see that I get what I want).
So long as you prepare and pack a few distractions for your kids while waiting for food, you'll be set. The kids can nibble off of the adult entrees, or do what my kids love to do: order à la carte from the appetizer menu! My younger daughter loves the pan-fried dumplings, and my son loves the veggie rolls.
