The family-owned and operated Oakdale Cheese Factory will satisfy a cheese craving any day of the week! Open every day (except Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day), this small but fun-filled local attraction is home to a small fruit, vegetable and nut stand; cheese factory, factory store and bakery; and a kid-friendly animal area.

Families can tour the cheese factory beginning at 9am, and at the large viewing window, can see that the day's batch of gouda is just forming curds and being stirred and drained. 

The store located within the factory building has munchies to purchase and take out to the large grass area for picnicking right on the lawn or at one of the 12 picnic tables.  Ponds with water features and koi fish will keep wee ones busy while adults enjoy finishing lunch.

Although not necessarily a petting zoo, the animals of the Oakdale Cheese factory can be fed fence-side.  Goats, cows, sheep, a llama and a donkey and more will eat $0.25 of feed right out of the childrens' hands -- much to the delight of both child and animal -- so make sure to pilfer the loose change from the couch before leaving the house.
