Columbia State Historic Park — once a bustling, brawling gold rush town — sits at an elevation of 2,100 feet amongst the oaks of the Sierra Nevada foothills.  In the mid 1800's, the town of Columbia was one of the largest cities in California, attracting people from other US states as well as other countries with promises of gold.  In fact, between 1850 and the early 1900s, as much as $150 million in gold was mined in Columbia.

Enjoy a morning of candy-filled egg hunting in Applegate Park, along Bear Creek!  The Kiwanis Club of Greater Merced organizes staggered egg hunts of children up to age 10 beginning at 10am.

Egg Hunt is between M & R Streets. Following the egg hunt, the nearby Kiddieland is opened to continue the fun.

Children are invited to hunt for prize filled eggs, meet the Easter Bunny and win raffles and prizes!

Tucked away in Sacramento's William Land Park, the 2.5 acre Fairytale Town celebrates all things newly emerging from winter's hibernation with its Spring Eggstravaganza event on April 7 & 8.  Take part in egg hunts, hands-on activities and even visit with Peter Cottontail (photos are an additional cost).

Train excursions leave every hour on the hour between 11am and 3pm, both Saturday and Sunday, but the egg hunt takes place only on Saturday.
