Come out and play at the Alameda County Fair, 99 years in the making!  The fair is held in Pleasanton at the Alameda County Fairgrounds, and is one of the state's largest county fairs with nearly a half million families visiting each year.

Columbia State Historic Park — once a bustling, brawling gold rush town — sits at an elevation of 2,100 feet amongst the oaks of the Sierra Nevada foothills.  In the mid 1800's, the town of Columbia was one of the largest cities in California, attracting people from other US states as well as other countries with promises of gold.  In fact, between 1850 and the early 1900s, as much as $150 million in gold was mined in Columbia.

Held at the Mariposa County Fairgrounds and sponsored by the Mariposa Kiwanis Club, the annual 4th of July Old-Fashioned Celebration and Fireworks takes place on Sunday, July 3, 2011.

Festivities begin at noon and continue until 7pm.  Enjoy free access to water slides, games, music and more.  Food and drink vendors will be offering items for purchase.
